Hi Susan, well, it's not a shot that I'm esp proud of, clarity wise, but as you say, the colours are so varied and iridescent that I had to submit it.

thanks very much May, for the nice comments. I hesitated to put these up, due to their not being that great, but hoped they'd be of interest to some listers. Am sorry about the dangerous drought there, -- wish we could share some of our unsettled weather down to you, - it keeps trying to be like late spring/early summer with some nice warm days, but then we go back to overcast and some rain too. Seems to be "one thing or the other", no happy medium, right.

How I envy your hummers. When I lived in Coos Bay, OR, we had so many varieties and the show went on all day long. We only have ruby throats here, and I have not seen any at all, though my feeder is up. We are in the vicegrip of a terrible, dangerous drought.

thanks very much, Carol,Lorraine and Golda for the nice comments. Like I said, on the other images in this series, -realize they're not the best hummer shots, but thought that the unusual colour of the gorget was worth sharing. And like Golda mentioned, I did also notice the intense stare in his eye, -definitely watching me :)
