A great capture, Carol. Now that they're a bit older, the fawns are coming a bit closer to us - but they still dart off quite quickly - even when their mothers are coming in to feed. This one's a gem. Vicki

Thanks all for the lovely comments.This little fawn didnt stop long,I think it was looking for its mother. This is a white tailed deer it is the only kind that is native to Maine.It sure was covered with lots of spots and so very cute.

Beautiful color and detail. This looks a lot like the axis deer. Even the adults have spots.

How beautiful - a wonderful shot. Now I will just pretend that I saw this on my short walk this morning. *g* We DO usually have some deer come into the back yard, where I can see them, in the winter but I miss them during summer. A really great picture.
