About This Image

A photo of my daughter Bianca getting prepared for some Pointe work in her ballet class. This was originally in colour but I didn't like the brown of the floor in the studio so I changed it to black and white and then recoloured her ballet shoes. She told me that they are too pink but I like them.

Hello. I see that you don't update your website too often. I know that writing posts is boring and time consuming. But did you know that there is a tool that allows you to create new articles using existing content (from article directories or other blogs from your niche)? And it does it very well. The new articles are unique and pass the copyscape test. Search in google and try: miftolo's tools

Lulu what a lovely shot. I love what you have done with the B&W and the pink. I wish I knew how to do that... It would look fabulous on Biancas wall. Oh how we love teenagers - and all of their personalities :)

Lovely photo. The lines of her arms, legs and body are beautiful. I love that her shoes and ribbons have been left pink. My girlfriend who studied for years always wore pink pointe shoes. Fine work. Done with love.

The dance sure is beautiful and thanks for leaving your comment. She is preparing for exams at the moment so they did a demonstration concert today so that family could see what all the girls were learning. It was loads of fun.

Thanks Katie. It actually is a work of art putting on ballet shoes (and in my case - putting on my sneakers). Thanks for leaving such a lovely comment.

Beautiful picture, I wish I knew how to make putting my sneakers on into a work of art! And how to do it so gracefully as well.

Thanks for your nice comment Talsi. In fact, Bianca is all ready in her ballet gear now - off to a Ballet seminar as it is school holidays. She loves to dance so much and I have to say that I really love to watch. Yes, Ballet is a serious business to these girls, especially if they want to make a career out of it like Bianca does.

Simply lovely - it seems to tells a story about ballerinas how serious they take their work.

You have a great picture. You have inspired me to learn Photoshop. I know you used a differant program, but I know I can do what you have done with photoshop too. Thanks for the inspiration.

I took this into the photo shop to get it printed to put on Biancas wall and he loved it also. He thought it was a great idea colouring just the shoes and, funny enough, had no idea of how to do it. It looks great printed out and framed.

Thanks for your comment Mary. Around the house, you would never guess she is a ballet dancer. Once she gets into her leotard and puts on those shoes, she is a totally different girl. Being only 11, she is the youngest in her dance class but has the maturity (in class) of a much older student. She has told me that this is what she wants to do for a career. Her goal is to be accepted into the New Zealand School of Dance and I'd say, with her determination, she will make it. Alandra, I'm not that familiar with Paint Sho Pro but will look into it or ask around as to whether you recolour the same as in Photoshop. I am still learning how to use my program but this is one thing I really wanted to learn how to do. Took me a few hours to figure it out, but I did and am really pleased with the results I can get. Some of your photos would look great done this way.

Beautiful shot. I like the selective coloring you did and Bianca looks graceful just putting her ballet shoes on.
Guest - Aug 17, 2005 03:16 PM EDT
forgot to say, it's Paint Shop Pro version 9, Lulu.
Guest - Aug 17, 2005 03:15 PM EDT
I agree, and a photo for Bianca's room is a lovely idea. thanks Lulu, am using Paint Shop Pro. haven't done anything with layers yet : ) guess I'd better get cracking & learn a few more things : ) - many more things.

There is nothing more beautiful to me than Bianca in her ballet gear. She just takes on a whole different attitude, and so graceful. She had a wall full of ballet prints and paintings in her room but I'm going to go and get this printed for her to add to her collection as I simply love it. Its just so hard to get a good picture of her in the studio as its so dark and the teacher doesn't like us taking photos. I took this one as she was sitting in front of me putting on her shoes. Alandra, I need to know what computer program you use. I just cut out the portion I want to colour, make it a layer and then recolour it. There are various degrees of recolouring though.

this caught my eye at once, it's wonderful! Elegance is the word that comes to mind, and Bianca is lovely. I love the colour of the shoes and "ribbons". I'd like to know how you colour the individual items like that. Can you give me a quick lesson, thanks : ) this is a prize winner imo

HI Lulu, Simply beautiful. I love what you have done - what a neat idea. I love the pink satin on the grey tones. Hi Bianca!
