Guest - Aug 17, 2006 06:15 AM EDT nice to see the white japanese anemones. We don't have any of the white ones, but have the pink variety. Not sure if you already know this, but the hummingbirds and bushtits use the "down" from the dried seed heads, for their nests in the spring, so we always leave ours after they finish flowering, to go to seed, so the birds can use the "down". We watch them pecking at the seedheads to open them to get at the downy stuff inside : )
