Andrew Jackson did talk with the Baratarians in real life. He had a cup of coffee with them the morning of the battle of New Orleans according to reports. He called the Baratarians Hellish Banditti.

I did not use the goblet for wine since it was at a National Park event but thanks for the comments. It is interesting how the small things are what gets picked up by people.

nice shot. notice the wine goblet on the barrel - we've got some exactly the same, and some larger in same design. They sure keep the wine nice and cold.
