Amethyst crystals are among my favorite gemstones. My wife loves purple and recently a friend went to India for a business trip. In India, pearls and non-precious gemstones are very cheap, so he got a nice pearl necklace with an Amethyst pendant for me. It's very cool - especially since it actually came from the source rather than a local jewelry store.

This crystal is on my daughters back deck in NY.So very pretty when the sun shines on it.I took this photo while I was visiting there in August.
