agreeing with the other comments, great work. Am confused tho', re which macro lens is used here, as initially you wrote canon 180mm macro but later you wrote 100mm. Was the 180 a typo? I tried the Canon 100mm macro about 6 mos ago, and didn't persevere with it, so exchanged it for an ultra wide angle lens. Maybe I'll try the 100 mm again sometime and practice more with it : )

Hi Steve. This is a relatively cooperative species and I often am able to approach it very closely. There really were no tricks here ... just a good macro lens (Canon 100mm macro), a good tripod, and a cable release. I used a lower aperture to increase DOF.
