About This Image

Mikee's Grandsons, Alex (9) and Ayden (2), were romping on the floor with my Golden Retreiver hand puppet, "Nugget". The background was too cluttered with toys, so I eliminated it, and substituted a graduated color layer.
The "frame" and "mat" came to me while I was recuperating from a virus. Mike had asked me to print some of my photos for our walls. Living in a limited space I used elements of our window cornices, trim pieces and even upholstery fabrics and border trims to create both.
The outer frame was created from the living room window cornices, and the mat is the wall texture.

Thank you, Mary and Alandra. The boys were so funny that day. Alex loves "Nugget" - enough that I ordered him one for his birthday last week. He's excellent with my puppets (I have several). But Ayden's at that 2-yr-old "I want" stage, so as soon as Alex grabs Nugget, Aydie's all over his brother! The framing idea was a result of being down with a virus for a couple of weeks. We purchased two cabinets for the bedroom, but Mike - a former woodworker - despised the cheap finish. Having been on me for some time to print out some of my photos, I started printing some on label paper and creating a collage to hide the cabinet surfaces. That's when I realized that I needed some form of cohesion if I was to display some in our living quarters as all my experimental borders and frames were a bit much. While down, I got the idea to create a semblance of uniformity by using my RV furnishings. Now I have frames and mat templates and still manage to get a bit creative even with thouse, while keeping a semblance of uniformity!

lovely photo altogether. You captured the feelings of the children it seems. And the framing and how you achieved it is very impressive. I love the entire photo.

Brilliant to have created the frame and to have made a better background for two handsome grandsons!

Thank you Carol. They're fun children - Ayden's not happy that we're back on the road. Alex deals with it better - but they made me miss my own grandchildren something fierce!
