About This Image

Hummingbird after it's bath, it sat on a twig in our shrubs all fluffed up at first, then it started preening. I captured a series of photos. There's a loose feather at the top of it's tail, which can be seen quite clearly in the original.

again, thankyou Mary in Kent. Glad you are enjoying the info etc about the N. American birds : ) They have a strange "tongue" or feeding tube, with which they pump up the nectar from the feeders, and every so-often I see them shooting this tongue out, as they sit there.

thanks again, Carol, Alex and Kathy. Yes, am having a lot of fun with the camera, altho much of the results is luck and trial and error, as I don't like reading manuals : )
