thanks folks for the ideas. the picture was taken from the open bow of my potoon boat.and I never thought about making it level.

Nice basic picture Eman. IMHO improvements could be: 1 Level the picture... 2 By isolating the sky, you could have worked on it seperately to darken but also inverted your selection and added some interest to teh foreground. Having said that, its not too easy to do with PSP8 so I'd suggest Elements 2 if you don't have XP or 3 if you do. It makes these adjustments a breeze. David
