About This Image

The Phainopepla are hard birds to sneak up on. I kept slowly walking up until I figured I better not press my luck and got this photo. Chriss helped me out and sent me this information about these birds. The Male is dark, glossy, purplish black; with white on primaries obvious in flight. The female is all dark gray, with white wing bars; crest pointed. Eyes red; bill thin; tail long squared. A berry eater; Voice Song; short warbling.

Wow Alan! This is a wonderful capture of this Phainopla. This is not a familar bird to me. Nice compositon and clarity.
