About This Image

I found this bloom in the park. I thought it rather
pretty as the sunlight was shining on the flower's seed
in such a nice way. But, I'm not sure of the name of
this plant. Can someone name it for me if you are
viewing it? Would it be thistle?

Thank you Whittler. I keep trying to learn this Nikon. Do you know a good macro lens for a Nikon 40D? I notice my lens are giving me a bit of trial in getting things things crystal clear or maybe I haven't learned the right setting yet. Thanks for the comment and viewing.
