About This Image

This shrub has very interesting blossoms, from the time they emerge from a rather hairy protective layer,to this end result.

late with these comments, Golda, only just found this one, - love it. Echoing all the other comments. These tulip trees are so pretty in the springtime, -- another name is Magnolia Soulangea - not sure of spelling. Another magnolia seen a lot at this same time of year, is the Star Magnolia, or Magnolia stellata, also very pretty.

Thanks Whittler and Talsi. There is nothing quite like the early evening summer sun to put great warm highlights on everything.

Thankyou Plumeria, and Ikka. This is called a Tulip tree(common name). We live in approx.the same growing zone,so you should have something like this in California.

Is this a magnolia? I love this macro. The detals are awsome and well defined. Very elegant looking Dear Golda.
